The client was building a new Premium Toptracer two storey golf driving range, and golf academy. They contacted JLR Contracts to help. Polished concrete was the preferred choice due to its durability and longevity even with heavy footfall. The area was approx. 1,2000m². Aesthetics was an important factor as the range would be the premier driving range in the Northeast, as well as one of the top ranges in the country. It also had to be functional, easy to clean and give long service life. Please see further down the page for more details of the project….
The floor was newly poured by others on constructed metal decking on both the ground and first floors. We diamond ground both floors to give a random aggregate finish with plenty of character. We then polished to a low gloss finish to give greater slip resistance, as both floors may be affected by changeable weather conditions, due to the floors being semi-external surfaces. The polished concrete floor was then sealed and burnished, to give a final lustre and to help guard against staining. As well as being aesthetically pleasing, the floor would also now give many years of functionality and service in a highly trafficked commercial environment.
